SEDOO : Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées Data Service

Description

The Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées Data Service (SEDOO) task is the development of scientific data management, processing and dissemination applications in the framework of:

  • international programmes including large multidisciplinary field campaigns (atmosphere, ocean, continental surface…) ;
  • national long-term observation services to monitor the environmental properties over several decades ;
  • national thematic data centres (atmosphere, ocean) ;
  • yearly call dedicated to the OMP laboratories needs.

Main activities

The SEDOO expertise is both technical and thematic:

  • Databases conception and development
  • Data access web applications development, with catalogues, user interfaces, advanced functionalities (visualisation, calculation…) and administration tools (users, monitoring…)
  • Metadata and data homogenization using standards (formats, thesaurus, norms…)
  • Interoperability protocols (OpenDAP, OGC…)
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) assigning
  • Data policy (support for data exchange rules writing)
  • Campaign websites to suport operations (flights…)

Le SEDOO is located at the Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées close to the campus of University Paul Sabatier and CNES in Toulouse.
